PALERMO: WHERE TO STAY

PALERMO MONDELLO WHERE TO STAY BLOG A BLONDE AROUND THE WORLD-6

Palermo is a all-year-around destination, even though probably the best time to visit would be early and late summer (avoid July and August, as it’s too hot to sight-see and the beaches will be like hell on Earth).

It’s a city blessed by the climate and nature, and as you could read some posts ago, it hosts probably the best italian urban beach: Mondello.

So for our stay in Palermo we actually decided to be based in Mondello instead of downtown, to enjoy a morning and evening swim and walk by the beautiful beach.

You can easily reach the city with the bus n.806 connecting Mondello to the Politeama, the heart of the city, and the start point of our “Palermo in 2 days” itinerary.

Our home in Mondello was actually a real home: this time we decided to rent a cute apartment, styled in a mix of a shabby chic, modern and local style, just a few blocks from the beach.

Marco, the host, was friendly and incredibly hospitable and helpful, and made our holiday perfect.

The apartment name is “Casa Argo” and you can reach Marco either via mail at marcodellaira@yahoo.it or by phone at 00393203565255.

The apartment is also listed on HouseTrip, if you prefer to book it through the well known renting platform.

I loved our Mondello days and still think of them in big melancholy.
